The Balticon Sleeping Room Block, per contract terms, has a room rate of $145.00 per night (taxes additional 15.5%) for King Bed or Double Queens. The block closed on 5/3/2019 at 5pm and the hotel actually shut down online booking the morning of 5/6/2019, and reduced our block to the total reservations at that time. The hotel has offered to switch anyone on a wait-list we create into any room we tell them is canceling, maintaining the con rate, if we let them know the person with the reservation is canceling before the original owner of the registration cancels in Passkey or through Marriott’s other booking sites. If you wish to help other fans and intend to cancel a reservation in the Balticon Block please let us know by sending email to hotel@balticon.org with your name and reservation number two days before you otherwise need to cancel. We will then have the hotel snag that reservation and select the first name off the wait-list and contact the waiting fan to let them know they now have a room reservation if they confirm they want it.

Baltimore Inner Harbor plaza If you want to be on the wait-list, send to hotel@balticon.org your name, [presumably we can use your email address off of your email], daytime phone number that you can be reached at, preferred check-in, check out dates, room type wanted, and any special request and we will let the hotel know we want you on the wait-list. In the years we ran a wait list exactly like this we managed to get almost everyone who asked into the hotel. So, please let us know if you want in. Warning: If you book into this hotel with a third party site like hotels.com for a higher rate the hotel can not switch you over to the block later because doing so will violate the contract they have with third party re-sellers. If you booked through a Marriott site at a higher rate they can switch you to the con rate if someone cancels and tells us.
There are rooms available at other hotels around the Inner Harbor through third party booking sites at a variety of rates only a little higher than the con rate. The less expensive tend to be a little walk from the Renaissance and tend to be nearer the Ballpark. The Charm City Circulator travels past the Balticon Hotel and connects many downtown hotels and entertainment venues. We suggest you try for an overflow block at another hotel, but the prices quoted for nearby hotels, and limited time before those blocks would close anyway make this impractical. We do have more rooms in the Balticon Hotel both total and on peak night reserved than last year, but more people want rooms in the city this year as well for some reason.

Those already in the Balticon Block can use the online system to manage their stay through the link https://book.passkey.com/event/49767387/owner/297/home.

For changes by phone, please use the following dedicated Group Reservations phone number in order to make sure you are able to remain within the block. Reservations Toll Free: 1-877-212-5752 (Tell them date and hotel info and Group Code is BALTICON 2019).

Remember, in Maryland you can always extend your stay an extra day once you are in the room by calling the front desk.
