< Back Randee Dawn Literary Author Randee Dawn is a Brooklyn-based SFF/H author at night and an entertainment journalist during the day for publications including Today.com, NBCNews.com, Variety, The Los Angeles Times, Gold Derby.com and Emmy Magazine. Her humorous pop culture fantasy debut, Tune in Tomorrow, was published in 2022 by Solaris/Rebellion and reissued in 2024 with additional content by Solaris Nova. She has three books scheduled to publish in 2025: dark rock 'n roll fantasies The Only Song Worth Singing (April) and Leave No Trace (August), both from Arc Manor/Caezik; and We Interrupt This Program (a follow-up to Tune, from Solaris Nova). Her short fiction has appeared in magazines, podcasts and anthologies over the years, including most recently Dark Spores: Stories We Tell After Midnight, Vol. 4. He has led research teams studying robotics, artificial intelligence, reinforcement learning, and explainable AI in government and academic research labs including Carnegie Mellon University and University of Maryland. He was most recently leading a team at a company creating autonomous maritime vessels, and is currently working on a secret AI startup. < Back Doc Coleman Literary Author Doc Coleman never dreamed of being a writer. He dreamed of being an actor, of making movies. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. But he had a way with words, and still wanted to tell stories. So he did, and got better at telling them quickly. Doc’s stories appear in The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences’ Tales from the Archives podcast, and several anthologies including: the Bushido Western Anthology Way of the Gun, Paradise Found: Tales From the Library, and the recently published A Cast of Crows. The Perils of Prague, is the first novel in the Steampunk Comedy/Adventure series The Adventures of Crackle and Bang. The second book, The Kindred of Kali, is in work. He also published The Shining Cog and Other Steampunk Tales, a collection of Steampunk short stories. Doc is also a podcaster, narrator, and voice actor. < Back Yoshi Operations Director of RPG and Tabletop Programming Hello fellow nerds, I am Yoshi! I am the Director of RPG and Tabletop Programming for Balticon 59 and looking forward to seeing you all! This will be my 7th Balticon on staff, and my first year on the BSFS Board of Directors. As for my credentials, I have been an avid player of RPG and Tabletop games of a variety of stripes and systems for the past 23 years. I have played and/or run games of D&D 3.5, 4e, 5e, Pathfinder 1e and 2e, Iron Kingdoms, Starfinder, Traveler, Star Wars, Fallout, Warhammer, Warmachine, Firestorm, and Infinity. In more recent years, I have been streaming behind a virtual avatar (VTuber) with a variety content track including RPGs, Strategy, and Shooter games. Professionally, I have spent the last 9 years with CommVault Systems working as a Senior T2 Support Engineer for the CommVault family of Enterprise Backup, Restore, and Indexing Solutions. < Back Aaron Fors Costuming Cosplay Aaron Fors is a lifelong actor in film, television, and the stage. A dialectologist specializing in obscure regional and temporal dialects from around the world, as well as constructed languages from Klingon to Elvish, to his own bizarre creations. He employs this lifelong obsession heavily as an audiobook narrator and voice instructor. He is also now a published of author of science fiction and fantasy. If it gets weird, he probably loves it. From urban fantasy, to gritty cyberpunk, cosmic horror, or hard sci-fi with way too much peanut butter on Mars. He is a leatherworker specializing in experimental projects from corsets to vampiric leather roses made entirely of leather and thermochromic pigments that burn in the sun and heal in the dark, to hardened leather armor for use in the SCA. He works in wood, fabric, metal, and the bones of eldritch gods long dead, when they're on sale. Every piece, written, performed, or handcrafted is a shared story between the artist and the consumer. Gaia ran the Costume Con 37 Single Pattern contest and has been a Costume-con co-chair. She loves working on group costumes and herding cats.
