Balticon Anywhere
Balticon is not over when it is over. You can access recordings of some panels, special events, and virtual programming. When recording are available, we will send out a notice. The programs will stay up for about a month or so, so do not procrastinate. You should have received an email titled “Welcome to Balticon Anywhere.” There will also be an emailed Balticon Anywhere newsletter sent after the con. Also, the Balticon Discord allows people to share information and content.
Your feedback is important to us. Please attend the “Improving Balticon” panel in Homeland at 2:30. We will send out survey information in the post-Balticon newsletter.
Memberships Are Up!
This year, Balticon registration distributed about 1,150 full weekend badges (up from last year’s 1,105). There were around 250 one day memberships. You can purchase next year’s membership at the Registration desk. Buy now to get the lowest price.
Sunday Short Science Fiction Film Festival Winners
The Film Festival had close to 100 people at the start and more wandered in as the festival lasted for about four hours. We had a wide variety of films, and the best were very good. After three years of competition, the combined effort of Howard Waldop and George RR Martin has won the 2026 Balticon Sunday Short Science Fiction Film Festival with "The Ugly Chickens" scoring 4.3889 out of a possible. 5. Second Place and Best Animation was a surprising crowd favorite "A Bear Named Wojtek" scoring 4.2033. A strong 3rd went to the Sentimental Irish Film "Star Quest!" scoring 4.0000. If you like films remember that the Baltimore Science Fiction Society presents movies at the BSFS Building in Baltimore on the Third Saturday of each month.

Thank You to Volunteers!
Thank you to our hundreds of volunteers. Your work makes Balticon possible. Make sure you turn in your hours, even if you do it after the convention. Please continue to submit hours even after you have earned your shirt/next year’s membership as this information is helpful in getting grants and other financial purposes.
The ending of a convention is a sad time, but it is also a busy time. We need people to help get everything out of the hotel and back to the BSFS building. People who load and unload the truck get double hours. If you can, we always need people at the BSFS building on Tuesday for unloading. Volunteer and help out Balticon! Visit the volunteer desk. And don’t forget to report volunteer hours using the link https://forms.gle/kQsj2kfTTWqm3J577 or use the QR code. And thank you!
