Iver P. Cooper is a retired biotech patent attorney and an active contributor to the 1632 (and Alexander Inheritance) literary universes created by Eric Flint. He has had numerous short stories and articles published in the Grantville Gazette and 1632 & Beyond. He is also the sole author of three 1632 universe works published or distributed by Baen: the braided short story anthology 1636: Seas of Fortune, and the novels The Chrysanthemum, the Cross and the Dragon and 1637: The Pacific Initiative. He is a co-author (with Eric Flint) of 1636: The China Venture. He also writes nonfiction. He has three books published by McFarland (Poseidon's Progress: The Quest to Improve Life at Sea; Arming the Warship: Naval Weapons Technology and Gunnery from the Spanish Armada to the Cold War: and Airships: Their Science, History and Future); and three more in their publishing pipeline. And he has self-published Earthly Reflections: The Science of Reflected Light in Our Natural World.
