Balticon 31 will present a spectrum of gaming, company support, and Panels
oriented for people interested in gaming, or those who want to learn.
Companies such as United States Playing Cards; Makers of the X-files card
game, Thunder Mountain Games; Maker of Highlander, FASA, Games Workshop,
Fleer, Daedalus Games; Maker of Shadow Fist CCG, and Iron Crown enterprises
to name a few.
Balticon's game room will also sponsor RPG events, ranging from
Shadowrun, AD&D, Gurps, Vampire, Mage, Star Wars, Marvel Super Heroes,
Indiana Jones, and of course, our trademark of sponsoring new games and game
systems. This year, we sponsor two new games, Decker's World and Space
Flight.
In addition, this year's Balticon gaming sections will sponsor panels
delving into aspects of gaming. The panels include :
- How to create and maintain a Game world/Setting
- The Players Workshop: Improve your skills
- The GM's Workshop: Improve your skills
- How to settle Gaming group conflicts
- Dark Futures and conspiracy's in RPG's
- A live action Demo: Arcaia: Hosted by BIll Gill
Gaming at Balticon 31 is open, with many scheduled events to be announced at

Events are scheduled to include:
- Designing your own game setting/world
- Learn the do's and do nots of proper setting, as well as maintaining a game world
and te steps of creating an excellent and proper world. Participation and discussion
on the basic elements of setting up in a particular genre.
- Live Action Role-Playing Demo
- Learn and participate in a live-action demonstration of Padded Weapon Combat, used
in games from Arcadia to Darkon. Learn the proper methods of combat from veteran Bill Gill.
- The Player Workshop
- Learn tips on how to improve your game, organization skills and character development from
other players and writers. Learn how to create a proper character background, the tips to
getting a character approved, and the tricks to improve your own Role-Playing skills from
your peers. A must for those interested in improving and touching up their skills.
- Dark Futures in RPGs
- Discuss the implications of the Dark Future/Conspiracy scenarios in RPG's and fictions,
and see how they are influence RPG's as a whole. This panel will run on Saturday night.
- Game Masters Workshop
- Pick up pointers, design ideas, tips on Player and character generation, and tips to improve
your skills over-all. For experienced or novice Game Masters alike, come and brush up on
ideas and seek answers to popular Game Master dilemma's. To be held after the Player
Workshop. Open to all.
- How to resolve conflicts in a Gaming group (Without really trying)
- A general discussion on the common problems of gaming groups, as well as points and assistance
to resolve conflicts peaceably and without serious disruption to gaming. Points will include:
- How to mediate dispute
- How to work on resolving Personality conflicts
- Bad case examples
- What to do with Problem players.
