Costuming at Balticon
Cosplay, or the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, is a strong component of Balticon. While not a requirement, many attendees wander around the con dressed as their favorite character. Hall costume awards will be given on the spot on all days of the con. LARP (or Live Action Role Playing) games occur throughout the con. The highlight for costumers is the masquerade held on Saturday evening.
Balticon offers hours of costuming panels, workshops and presentations. We try to schedule quite a bit before the Masquerade so that novices can pick up some last minute coaching if they want it.

NEW – Sock Contest
New for this year, an alternative to dressing up in costume is available in Balticon’s first Sock Contest. On Sunday afternoon, we’ll gather to show off your unusual or colored socks. Check the schedule for time and location. Perhaps there will be prizes.
